Restoring Strength to Protect Your Property

What Is Retaining Wall & Seawall Repair?

Retaining walls and seawalls are designed to hold back soil and water, protecting your home, yard, or waterfront property from erosion and collapse. In Western Washington, heavy rainfall, flooding, and shifting soils put extra pressure on these structures. Over time, cracks, leaning, or bowing walls can appear, threatening safety and stability.

Our retaining wall and seawall repair services restore structural integrity by addressing the root cause of failure. We use proven systems like wall anchors, carbon fiber reinforcement, and soil stabilization to stop movement and protect your property from further damage.

Common Signs You Need Retaining Wall or Seawall Repair:

Visible cracks spreading across concrete or block walls

Walls leaning or tilting outward from soil or water pressure

Bowed or bulging areas in retaining walls

Erosion or soil loss behind the wall

Water pooling or seeping through seawalls

Proven Solutions to Stop Wall Failure and Protect Your Property

Our Retaining Wall & Seawall Repair Process

Retaining walls and seawalls face constant pressure from soil, water, and gravity. Over time, this stress can cause cracks, leaning, or complete collapse. Our process is designed to relieve pressure, stabilize the structure, and restore long-term durability — often without the need for full replacement.

Repair process:

  1. Inspection & Evaluation Identify wall movement, soil erosion, and underlying drainage problems.
  2. Engineering & Planning Create a repair plan tailored to the wall’s materials, location, and load requirements.
  3. Installation of Anchors/Supports Use wall anchors, carbon fiber straps, or tiebacks to stabilize and reinforce walls.
  4. Soil & Drainage Improvements Correct grading or install drainage solutions to relieve future pressure.
  5. Final Inspection & Clean-Up Ensure the wall is structurally sound and your property is safe.

Common Questions About Protecting Your Property

Retaining Wall & Seawall Repair FAQs

Why is my retaining wall leaning or cracking?

Washington’s heavy rainfall and saturated soils create hydrostatic pressure that pushes against retaining walls. Over time, this causes leaning, cracking, or bulging if the wall isn’t designed to handle the stress.

Can a damaged retaining wall be repaired, or does it need replacement?

Many walls can be stabilized with wall anchors, carbon fiber straps, or tiebacks. Full replacement is only required if the wall has collapsed or lost most of its structural integrity.

Why do seawalls fail?

Seawalls face constant water pressure, soil erosion, and tidal forces. Cracking, leaning, or voids behind the wall are warning signs of failure that require immediate repair.

How disruptive are repairs?

Many repairs are low-impact and performed with minimal excavation. Severe cases may require digging, but our team minimizes disruption and restores landscaping or waterfront access.

Can poor drainage make my retaining wall fail?

Absolutely. Inadequate drainage behind walls is a leading cause of failure. Without proper outlets, water pressure builds up and pushes against the wall until it gives way.

Will fixing my retaining wall prevent future soil erosion?

Yes. Reinforced walls paired with proper drainage systems stop soil from shifting and protect nearby landscaping and structures.

How long do repairs last?

With professional-grade reinforcements and good drainage, retaining wall and seawall repairs can last for decades.

Do you offer warranties on repairs?

Yes. We stand behind our repair systems with strong warranties to give you peace of mind.

Update 4/12/26 The company reached out to us, came to our home and made a plan to properly lift our house. The work was done in a timely manner and we had a much better experience with them this time around. We are very happy with how things turned out. Awful company. We paid over $38,000 to raise our foundation 1.5”. It started cracking and they were unable to do what they said they could. They “stabilized “ it and left with our savings. It was the biggest waste of money and I suggest you go elsewhere. Garbage. Our house feels like it’s sinking more.

So I had some work done by r and r back in 2019. I had six piers put in and really enjoyed Corey the owner… fast forward to 2026 and the other part of my house started having weird sounds and a crack in my ceiling… I live on a hillside and tons of water comes my way and a user error with a downspout may have caused more issues… I made an appointment to have him come Out and do an inspection with a bid…. It’s pretty rare these days to not feel like you have gotten taken… Cory did all the measurements and well it appears the house is just settling. The house was built in 1980 by the original owners and was definitely not built straight. Anyway… Cory literally put me at ease and said. “Let’s just keep these measurements and check them out in a year or so. “He could have easily have just said… “yup. You need six piers….” He didn’t. I highly recommend r and r foundation… thanks for being honest… it goes a long way! Also… when I do need the work done… I, of course, will be using them!

House built in 1913 did not disappoint with challenges with a leaking foundation into the basement. But, R&R came through and I am able to feel confident that any further water issues are no longer. If the opportunity presented itself, I would hire them again.

I had them come out to my house to look at an issue of water seeping into my garage which is built into a hill. For reasons that have nothing to do with them, I didn't end up getting the work done. However of the four companies I had look at it, R&R's assessment was easily the most thorough. They are the only one that did any significant inspection outside of the building rather than just inside the garage and their prices were comparable to the other companies I checked out.

Had R and R do some work on our older home that needed an update to the crawl space foundation posts a few years back. Work was accomplished in a timely and professional manner. Now in 2025, we are selling our home in a slow market and want to upgrade. We need to show the new buyers the application to transfer the foundation warranty ahead of the inspection in a few days as a show of good will to close the home. R and R's marketing manager, Jordan, was able to accomplish this promptly within one day for us and really set us up well to help close our home. While the foundation repair was important, it was years later, being able to connect with R and R again, and show the new buyers the work they had done and that it was done by a reputable company, that helped seal the deal.
